Who can benefit from it?

The range and variety of packages, settings, support levels means that Earwig works equally well for a small PRU providing limited support in a mainstream setting or a large all-through special school.

Curriculum assessment

With Earwig, you can assess pupils as you create the evidence, individually,  or a class at a time.Whether you are tracking statutory frameworks, commercial products for which you are already licensed, or your own bespoke KPIs, Earwig will load up your assessment criteria and you are ready to go.

The custom grading feature allows your setting to assess the incremental small steps of progress that are so very important to learners and to illustrate the positive impact your staff are having.

Individualised targets

All SEND children now have their learning, at least partly based on their own specific EHCP targets. This presents added workload for schools that don’t use Earwig.  Ask for a demo to see how Earwig assessment enables teachers to deal with this in the same way as they do with conventional progress measures. But these are editable.

The bespoke nature of these frameworks means that they can be easily updated and provide settings to focus on the important aspects of learner development.

This makes it easy to evolve the targets with the local authority or other professionals, at annual reviews or any other time and produce detailed and structured reports with a couple of clicks.

Find the right balance of assessment frameworks across your school

Special schools deal with a wide range of abilities  - and disabilities.  So you probably need a suite of different assessment mechanisms to be able to fully assess each pupil. Most schools use a combination of statutory, third party and their own. Earwig client schools have helped us to assemble more than 300 for you to choose from, including all the usual commercially available schemes. With these, you can take them as they are or mix and match segments - or just allow us to load the one you have developed in-house.
